The Herbalife® company has been in business for 30 years now and although their specialty is healthy and fast weight loss, they also have high quality nutritional and personal care products. The company manufacturers its products in the United States (US) and China, and markets them internationally via a multi-level marketing strategy.

Today Herbalife has grown into one of the world’s leading nutrition companies and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol = HLF).  This globally recognized brand offers a product range that contains various weight management supplements, protein shakes, nutritious snacks, vitamins, sports and energy products, skin and hair care products, and more.

Millions of people, many of whom are Herbalife Independent Distributors, use Herbalife products to support their fitness, nutrition, and beauty aims. The company employs an estimated 8,000 people worldwide.

Products

Herbalife has high quality products developed by some of the top doctors and scientists in the world which meet and exceed the FDA’s requirements. The products are pharmaceutical grade and are a natural blend of fruit, vegetable and herbal extracts.

The products have been developed by Herbalife’s Medical Advisory Board, which is made up of more than 30 doctors and scientists who are all highly educated in health and nutrition, they include Nobel Prize winning scientist, Dr Lou Ignarro.

The main product in the Herbalife program is the Formula 1 Nutrition Shake Mix. This product comes in 6 flavors and you will need to have some cold juice or milk to mix it with. Ideally you need to blend or shake your Formula 1 with the juice to get a nice smooth consistency so if you don’t already have one it would be worth getting a blender or a container with a screw top lid. You can also add small amounts of yogurt, fresh or frozen fruit to your shakes to make them taste better.

Compensation Plan

A lot of people who have signed up with Herbalife can’t explain exactly how they make money because the compensation plan is a bit complicated. There are several ways to make money, most of these are by becoming a supervisor or higher. A new independent distributor has two basic ways to make an income.

Immediate Retail Profit of 25% to 50%. As a Member, you may purchase Herbalife products at a wholesale discount of 25% to 50% and then sell these products to customers for a profit. The difference between the discounted product price paid by you and the retail price paid by your customer is your retail profit. As the amount of products you purchase increases, this discount will increase to a maximum of 50%

Daily Wholesale Profit
The difference between what you pay for products and what Members in your personal organization pay for products is your wholesale profit. As an Herbalife independent distributor, you can earn Wholesale Profit on products purchased by your downline. Your Wholesale Profit, also called commissions, is the difference between the discounted price you pay for products and the discounted price paid by your downline. If you sell products directly to your downline, you can earn up to 25% Wholesale Profit immediately. If your downline purchase their product directly from Herbalife, then Herbalife pays the difference in discount percentage to independent distributor and to the qualified supervisor on the order. These payments are called commissions and are your wholesale profit.

Volume is a key term in the compensation plan and is the basis for qualifying and working your way to higher levels. Each Herbalife product has a Volume Point value assigned to it.

As you order products, you accumulate credit towards the Volume Points that are correlated to the products ordered. These accumulated Volume Points become your sales production and are used for purposes of qualifications and benefits.

Volume is credited to you in various ways depending on who purchased the volume, your own status, and other factors of the Herbalife compensation plan. Volume is calculated on the accumulated Volume Point value of products ordered in a Volume Month.

Ability to Succeed

Once you become an independent distributor, you will have your own website that people can order products from. This is the Herbalife replicated website that all distributors receive, so this website won’t be able to rank with search engines.

For years distributors have used button to sell Herbalife products and build their downlines. This is one of the most effective techniques you can use to market by word of mouth. Simply wear one of the buttons anytime you are out in public.

Mark Hughes, who founded Herbalife, swore by buttons and was rarely ever seen in public not wearing one. That’s because he knew they are a great way to start conversations that can lead to sales. And by always wearing one, he was setting an example for all his distributors.
